Written by Alan Marks, Directed by Nicola Smith, performed on the 22nd-24th April 2010 by the Dulverton Players.
We had a lot of positive feedback from people about our Cabaret we did last year, and the only criticism was that people thought that we should do a bit more drama in our productions. The cabaret got a lot of new people onto the stage, and made a lot of new connections, so we wanted to do something with the same energy, but with more of a plot and the opportunity to display all of the talent that we had in the cabaret, and a few people that we weren't able to take part in it.
The play revolves around a day in the life of the main character, Dorothy Cottrell, who has a pleasant day reflecting on a musical life past. Her ex-Flight Lieutenant husband, successful daughter, and promising granddaughter all chip in with a variety of anecdotes, and memory starters.
As with any cabaret/musical play/group piece, we had a huge cast. I offer a great thank you for the music to all who took part, I hope that I haven't missed any of them, but here there are:
